When an inverter replacement makes sense
Inverters fail, age out of warranty, or no longer match a larger array. A replacement should name the new inverter, how it talks to the existing panels, and whether the work affects STCs or other program claims.
Adding panels or retrofitting battery storage
System upgrades can mean more rooftop solar, a hybrid inverter, or grid-connected battery storage added to an older array. The right path depends on roof space, the switchboard and current program rules — not on a generic package.

Who confirms the design
Solar Alliance introduces you to accredited local installers. The installer confirms whether the upgrade is suitable and whether government rebates still apply. We do not design systems or create STCs.

- Can I keep my existing solar panels if the inverter is replaced?
- Often yes, if the panels and the new inverter are compatible. That is a site decision for the installer, not something this website can confirm.
- Do upgrades still receive STCs?
- Sometimes, depending on the extra capacity, the components and current Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme rules. Ask the installer to show the assumption in the quote.
